VILLAGE ON THE LAKE

This picturesque view perched amongst the trees above the beautiful Oswego Lake, is breathtaking! As you approach the newly painted brick home adorned with trellis’s and a richly stained door with rain glass, you are invited in. Once entering the home, our goal is to capture the view and let it draw you in. We created an entertaining space outside and in by adding a four paneled sliding door and covered deck. The homeowners request was a “calm” space to embrace the beauty while entertaining their family and friends. The Calacatta marble helps to give a sense of warmth and elegance, the veining helps to anchor the island. My favorite aspect of the kitchen is the two sconces flanking the arched window. The family room and bar help to create a fun relaxing environment to enjoy the view, fire and a movie. The custom limestone fireplace is flanked by two custom made cabinets. The powder bath and mudroom were also objectives. The existing powder bath was dark with a heavy large beam and brocade walls. We removed the existing tub shower and utilized that space for the family room bar, creating a more intimate powder bath. I selected a fabric textured wallpaper on all of the walls except the back wall which adoren’s a motion style 12x24 tile plus a custom mirror and vanity to help create elegance and harmony within this small space. In the mudroom, it was essential to create a storage space and desk area with file drawers while including a location for the large wine refrigerator. My goal for this room was utilitarian, while not giving up the sophistication. By adding the fun drum lights and warm cabinet color the room is an alluring space and is seen from the Front Entry which is definitely NOT an afterthought!
